# Get started
Learn how to choose a plan, find your connection details, and make your first request.

## Before you begin
You will need a DeepSeek Coding Plan, an API key, the service base URL, and the model name shown in your account. Pro costs $19.90/month or $119.40/year. Max costs $49.90/month or $299.40/year. Pro Max costs $69.90/month or $419.40/year. Ultra costs $299/month or $1,794.00/year. All prices are in USD. Annual charges are paid upfront once per year; approximate monthly equivalents are $9.90, $24.90, $34.90 and $149.50 respectively, displayed with the second decimal digit set to zero. The annual total is six times the monthly charge (50% off twelve monthly payments). Allowances and availability remain provisional.

## Choose a plan
Start with [who a Coding Plan suits](https://deepseeksub.com/docs/choosing-a-plan/index.md) and the [subscription explanation](https://deepseeksub.com/deepseek-subscription/index.md). Occasional use or a high proportion of cached input can make pay-as-you-go a better fit.

1. Compare the plan price, included allowance, reset period, and renewal terms.
2. Choose the plan that matches your expected usage.
3. Select Buy, sign in and review checkout. After payment, check [Billing](https://deepseeksub.com/account/billing) for delivery and [Your plan](https://deepseeksub.com/account/plan) for activated allowances.

## Get your connection details
Open [Account → API keys](https://deepseeksub.com/account/keys), choose a name, billing mode and expiry, then create a key. Copy it immediately; it is shown only once. Use the base URL and model displayed on the same page. If no endpoint is shown, API access is not yet available.

## Make a request
Check the [compatibility table](https://deepseeksub.com/compatibility/index.md) first. A setup guide does not mean dssub has passed a production test for that client.

Follow the [API quickstart](https://deepseeksub.com/docs/quickstart/index.md) to send a test request. If you use a coding assistant, follow the relevant integration guide after confirming that the service supports the required API format.

## Next steps
Read [API keys](https://deepseeksub.com/docs/api-keys/index.md) for key safety, [Usage and limits](https://deepseeksub.com/docs/usage-limits/index.md) for plan terms, and the guides for Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode.
