DeepSeek subscription and Coding Plans explained

Understand the difference between official API billing, an independent Coding Plan and a coding-tool subscription.

Is this an official DeepSeek subscription?

No. dssub is an independent service in development. It is not the official DeepSeek website, and a dssub purchase will not add balance or benefits to an official DeepSeek account.

DeepSeek’s official API price page describes usage-based billing from a prepaid balance. Check DeepSeek’s own website for its current consumer offerings; the term “DeepSeek subscription” on a third-party website does not make the plan official.

What does a Coding Plan buy?

A Coding Plan is a provider’s subscription with its own model access, allowances and limits. dssub plans a recurring fee with 5-hour and 7-day usage windows depending on the tier. It is not unlimited API usage.

The current plan design references DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017. Pro, Max, Pro Max and Ultra are subscription names; “Pro” does not mean the DeepSeek V4 Pro model is included. Final model availability will be published before purchase.

Does it include Claude, ChatGPT or a coding-tool subscription?

No. Using a third-party model in a compatible client does not purchase that client’s own subscription or give access to another company’s models. You need a client that supports the required provider configuration.

Our guides cover configuration patterns. dssub’s actual connections are still awaiting testing; see the compatibility table before relying on a tool name.

When is a subscription worth considering?

Compare your actual token volume and cache use against the subscription fee. Regular use can make a plan attractive; occasional use or heavily cached input can favor pay-as-you-go. Also check whether short bursts fit the 5-hour allowance and whether the week fits the 7-day allowance.

Use the cost examples and selection guide. A very low price calculated at full allowance use is not the price every customer will achieve.

What should I check before paying?

Confirm the seller, exact model, tested client, allowance and reset rules, rate limits, total charge and renewal terms. Review data handling and refund and cancellation rules. dssub checkout is not connected yet; current figures describe the preview.
